The Only Link You’ll Ever Need To Prove Why Treatment Of Women In Comic Art Is Not Equal

And here it is: http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2012/02/21/she-has-no-head-no-its-not-equal/

I originally (read: a few weeks ago) began this Tumblr just to show what a genuine hourglass figure would look like if drawn in comics, and partly to illustrate why Emma Frost’s costume is ridiculous and would make her look like a bricklayer (in terms of figure, rather than working attire.) Since then, my view of comics has been forever changed as I have encountered the dreaded concepts of Collarboob, O-Face and - most heinous of all - Brokeback.

That link explains it all. Quite fairly too, I feel, since the underlying point of it is that if you like any of the things described and want them to continue, then fine, that is your perogative - many will disagree, but whatever. The point is - don’t defend it by pretending it’s equal. Treatment of men is a false equivalent of treatment of women in comics. It is not equal.

Read the link, chaps.
